
Thomas Barasa
Thomas is an Agricultural Economist with over 25 years in both public and private sectors. He has worked for the Government of Kenya, Kenya National Farmers’ Union, Oxfam GB- Kenya and Coordinated the Agricultural Trade Policy Programme. Thomas served as the Agricultural Marketing and Food Security Expert and team leader of the Agricultural Marketing Promotion and Regional Integration Project (AMPRIP) at COMESA Secretariat from 2005 to 2010. Thomas has worked as Food Security Advisor for Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in Nairobi, UNECA (Kigali) and as a Consultant for TMEA.
Thomas is back at the COMESA Secretariat since November 2016, as the Coordinator of the Great Lakes Trade Facilitation Project, where his main role is to coordinate the COMESA Component of the project.
